The Scholastic Press Association at Columbia University just announced the Crown Award finalists for this year. I'm thrilled (and proud) to say that In The Margins made the final cut in the competition and we are guaranteed either a silver or a gold crown award. This is an amazing accomplishment for my staff! What a brilliant recognition! (And we are the only public school in Texas to receive this nod.)
Yay, you stealthy pirate ninjas, what with all of your amazing litmagination!!! Now. How do we get to NYC to pick up our award....(?) Suggestions?

A) SWEET!
B) My pick for best way to get to NYC: Greyhound Bus. Definitely. It only takes 40 hours each way and costs $194. (Yeah, I looked it up. Accuracy is important when one is trying to be a smartass.)
C) For reals, though, yo... Congrats! That mag completely deserves the attention it is getting -- it's gorgeous!
I'm jealous. I don't think I'll ever get to put together another lit mag again :-(
But seriously, congratulations to you and your talented kids. I still have my lit mag from Coronado (and from college). Lit mags have very long shelf lives...
